Check before you open

  • The domain in large type, so you can see where you’ll end up

Warnings on your phone

  • Addresses that look like a well-known site, such as “rnicrosoft” for “microsoft”
  • Mixed alphabets, such as a Cyrillic а that looks like an ordinary a
  • Well-known names like PayPal, your bank or a parcel service in someone else’s address
  • Short links, IP numbers and http without s
  • Words about logging in and paying on sites we don’t know
  • Every warning comes with a plain-language reason
  • The check runs on your iPhone, without the internet
