Pling

Pling is a tiny live quiz game for a room full of people – friends, family, colleagues or a classroom. One person hosts and gets a six-digit pin, everyone else enters it on their phone, and ten questions later there is a winner. No login, no app, no accounts. Just a pin.

How it works

  1. The host presses start and gets a 6-digit pin
  2. Everyone enters the pin on pling.theill.com
  3. Ten questions – the fastest correct answer wins
Joining a quiz with a pin and a name A question on the player's phone Correct answer with confetti and points Final standings on the player's phone

Questions come from a built-in bank of several hundred questions in eight languages (Danish, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Dutch), each with questions specific to that language’s countries. The host’s language decides which bank is used. Points are awarded for correct answers, and faster answers score more. Between questions everyone sees a live leaderboard, and the game ends with a podium for the top three.

Pling runs on Cloudflare Workers with a small D1 database. It has no accounts, no tracking and no ads, and all games and players are deleted automatically 24 hours after the game was created.
